Study of Radiative Capture Reactions in the Astrophysical P-process
The cross sections of 70 Ge(;) 74 Se and 144 Sm(;) 148 Gd reactions have been measured over the bombarding energy ranges of 5.05 MeV<E <7.80 MeV and 10.5 MeV<E <13.4 MeV, respectively. The results are compared to statistical model calculations. The importance of further reaction studies is emphasized.
متن کاملTHE ASTROPHYSICAL S-FACTOR OF THE REACTION Be(p,γ)B IN THE DIRECT CAPTURE MODEL
The astrophysical S-factor for the reaction Be(p,γ)B up to an energy of 2 MeV (c.m.) and the capture cross section of Li(n,γ)Li up to 1 MeV (c.m.) are calculated using the Direct Capture model (DC). Both calculations are in good agreement with experimental data.
متن کاملASTROPHYSICAL NEUTRON CAPTURE RATES IN s– AND r–PROCESS NUCLEOSYNTHESIS
Astrophysical neutron capture rates of light and heavy nuclei have been measured and calculated. For the measurements the activation technique was applied at the 3.75 MV Karlsruhe Van de Graaff accelerator, and at the Geel electron linear accelerator (GELINA) the time–of–flight (TOF) method was used. The calculations were performed using direct and compound nuclear capture models.
متن کاملCoulomb Dissociation as a Source of Information on Radiative Capture Processes of Astrophysical Interest
Experimental studies of the break up of light nuclear projectiles in the Coulomb field of a heavy nucleus, acting as a source of virtual photons, are proposed as an access to information about the reverse reaction, the fusion of the fragment particles at small relative energies. The mechanism of Coulomb dissociation is studied and the cross section of such reactions, being potentially of astrop...
متن کاملHe + 4 He → 7 Be astrophysical S factor
We present precision measurements of the 3He + 4He →7Be reaction in the range Ec.m. = 0.33 to 1.23 MeV using a small gas cell and detection of both prompt γ rays and 7Be activity. Our prompt and activity measurements are in good agreement within the experimental uncertainty of several percent. We find S(0) = 0.595 ± 0.018 keV b from fits of the Kajino theory to our data. We compare our results ...
